Belgian HR-Tech B2B SaaS Scale-up seeking two Independent Board Members

This Belgian scale-up is on a mission to make mental wellbeing accessible to everyone. They connect employees to their psychologists and coaches, and they help people grow resilience through digital, guided wellbeing journeys. They enable people to flourish by making mental wellbeing truly accessible. They sell their solution B2B to HR decision-makers.

The Role: Board Member. The board in this organisation is a working board, not a ceremonial one. You’ll be asked to push, challenge, introduce people, and defend the company when things get hard. Cadence is roughly 6 board meetings a year, plus ad-hoc calls when a funding round, acquisition, or strategic decision is live. Expect 1 day a month, more in hot periods.

The company is looking for two different profiles

INDEPENDENT BOARD MEMBER 1 : COMMERCIAL B2B SAAS-OPERATOR
You’ve taken a B2B SaaS company from roughly 1M to 10M or more ARR in Belgium or Benelux, selling into HR, People, or C-suite teams in mid-market and enterprise. You can read a pipeline and know when a founder is fooling themselves.
The company is looking for Board Member with:
• 10+ years in B2B SaaS, including CRO, VP Sales, or Commercial Director at a scaled company.
• Experience in HR tech, benefits, wellbeing, insurance, or adjacent sectors (big plus).
• Has hired and coached sales leaders, not only individual contributors.
• A Belgian/Benelux network of HR leaders, prevention services, and strategic partners.
• Comfortable challenging both a founder CEO and a newly hired sales lead with care and clarity.

INDEPENDENT BOARD MEMBER 2: INDEPENDENT FINANCIAL & GOVERNANCE DIRECTOR
You’ve been the CFO or audit partner others trusted to keep numbers honest. You believe reporting discipline is what separates companies that scale from companies that fragment. You can structure financial oversight that builds investor trust without slowing the team down. Critically: you would be a genuinely independent voice. You don’t represent a fund, a strategic partner, or a shareholder bloc. Your loyalty is to the company itself.
The company is looking for:
• CFO experience at a Belgian scale-up, or partner/senior manager in Big 4 audit with SaaS exposure.
• Has taken companies through Series A or Series B due diligence.
• Understands Belgian governance mechanics: STAK, alarm bell procedure, CLA structures, impact SSHA.
• Can chair an audit-style discussion and ask sharp questions without damaging the working relationship with the finance lead.
• Willing to own the financial-rigor file on the board and help the finance lead and the CEO make reporting bullet-proof.

Who You Are
• You care about mental wellbeing and the fact that about one in five employees struggles.
• You prefer specific questions over vague reassurance.
• You give feedback directly and without drama.
• You know when to dig in, and when to step back and let operators operate.
• You’ve been on boards where things went sideways, and you know how to be useful in that moment.
• You have a network of HR decision makers in Belgium and/or the Benelux and are willing to open doors.
• You don’t need a collection of non-exec titles. What you’d actually do in the room matters more to us than your board CV.

We are primarily looking for candidates in the Benelux. If you have exceptional expertise in scaling HR-Tech B2B SaaS, and an exceptional network with HR decision takers in the rest of Europe, you can apply as well.
