Biotech industry scale-up in bio-based surfactants seeking Independent Board Member
About the company
This company is an innovative scale-up in the biotech industry producing sustainable biosurfactants derived from biowaste and side streams. They are pioneering eco-friendly solutions for multiple sectors, including personal care, home care, and industrial & institutional (I&I) applications worldwide.
What they are looking for
To accelerate their global and market expansion, they are looking for an Independent Board Member who brings both strategic leadership and strong commercial development expertise.
Criteria:
• Extensive senior international (EMEA, US) experience in operational and executive roles within chemicals, specialty chemicals, ingredients, or closely related sectors.
• A strong track record in commercial development, business growth, and sales, preferably with exposure to both B2B markets. Optional: B2C experience is a plus.
• Experience working with VC and/or private equity-backed companies, ideally with prior Board or Advisory Board roles. Board Certification is a plus.
• Ability to navigate the dynamics of a fast-growing start-up/scale-up, including governance, strategic partnerships, and organizational development.
• Affinity with green chemistry, bio-based product innovation, and sustainability-driven business models is a plus.
• A solid network within the home and personal care sector (EMEA, US) that can accelerate strategic collaborations and commercial traction.
• Bonus: hands-on experience in scaling a technology from lab to commercial.
