HRTech Startup Using Interactive Work Simulations in Recruitment Seeks European Advisors

Start-up Hrtech Europe

About the company

A Belgian HRTech startup is building a new layer of hiring intelligence, starting with company-specific interactive work simulations.

AI is changing what hiring can tell us. Candidates can now produce convincing applications, interview answers and take-home assignments with far less effort. Yet much of recruitment AI still analyses the same underlying material: CVs, profiles and answers. Faster analysis does not necessarily create better evidence.

Meanwhile, the nature of work is changing. Teams collaborate across functions, locations and time zones. Information moves faster, dependencies multiply and decisions rarely happen in isolation. As AI makes it easier to produce an answer or complete a task, sound judgment in a real working context becomes more important. Employers need to understand not just what a candidate can deliver, but how they navigate work as it unfolds.

This startup creates that missing information. It turns a company's own working situations and case studies into interactive simulations, where candidates encounter evolving circumstances and their choices have consequences. Two candidates may reach the same outcome through very different approaches. Instead of measuring isolated traits or declaring a universal winner, the platform gives hiring teams direct evidence of how each candidate operated in context.

Candidates also receive personalised, practical feedback, with encouraging responses even from unsuccessful applicants.

The simulations are the entry point to a wider ambition: a hiring intelligence workspace with an AI recruiting assistant that combines newly generated evidence with existing hiring information, giving recruiters a more complete basis for decisions while keeping them in control.

The company has a working product, extensive conversations with recruiters and its first paid pilot. It is now focused on repeatable adoption and European growth.

What they are looking for

The company is looking for engaged advisors with deep knowledge of the recruitment industry and a strong, active professional network. The priority is someone who understands how hiring really works, how decisions are made inside organisations and where the industry is heading.

Relevant backgrounds could include current or former Heads of Talent Acquisition, Heads of Recruitment, Heads of People Operations, HR directors, senior recruitment executives, HRTech leaders or industry entrepreneurs. Experience founding or scaling an HRTech business is welcome, but not required.

The advisor could contribute in several ways:
• Industry insight: Share a senior-level perspective on recruitment practices, changing employer needs, technology adoption and the opportunities for new hiring data.
• Strategic guidance: Challenge product positioning, customer focus and commercial priorities as the company expands from work simulations toward a broader hiring intelligence workspace.
• Relevant connections: Make thoughtful introductions to hiring decision-makers, Talent Acquisition and People leaders, potential customers and partners, particularly across Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK.
• Practical collaboration: Act as a trusted sparring partner, offering candid feedback and helping the founders navigate important choices as the business grows.

The ideal person is curious about new approaches to recruitment, believes in the long-term potential of the space, and is willing to contribute both perspectives and connections. A strong understanding of the industry and genuine willingness to engage matter more than a particular job title or career path.

The company is flexible on compensation and open to discussing a success fee for business opportunities or funding secured through the advisor's involvement. For someone looking to play a more active, long-term role, we're also open to equity and potentially an advisory board position.
