I%27m an award-winning entrepreneur, investor, and international speaker with over a decade as an advisor, chairperson, and founding board member across corporate and nonprofit organizations — most recently as contracted Lead Advisor to The Numbers Holding Company.
What I bring that most board members don%27t: before founding two companies (Inc. 5000 #762, Financial Times FT500 #69), I spent my career in emergency management and disaster response — FEMA/DHS, firefighter, EMT, hazmat and special operations, Master Public Information Officer. Incident command is a governance model. It teaches defined decision rights, a single accountable owner, and the discipline to decide on 60% of the information because 100% never arrives. Boards stall for exactly the opposite reason. When yours faces a bad quarter, a failed executive hire, or a founder crisis, that training is the difference between a clear decision and a two-hour discussion that adjourns without one.
