Steady Energy is a Finnish startup pioneering compact nuclear heating solutions to decarbonize district heating systems. Founded in 2023 as a spin-off from VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, the company is developing the LDR-50, a low-temperature, low-pressure small modular reactor designed exclusively for heat production. With plans to begin construction of its first pilot plant in 2025 and commercial operations by 2030, Steady Energy aims to provide safe, scalable, and emission-free heating for urban areas across Europe.
