I advise and mentor several CEO / CTO and Founders of Start ups, Scale ups and Small and Medium sized Companies. These companies (or individuals) do approach me through their investors (angels or VCs). I get involved from the Due Diligence stage for long term growth of these companies (or till the exit of the investors I work with).
