This vertical farming startup is about to begin production of various kinds of herbs in Helsinki, Finland in March 2023. Vertical farming, also known as layer farming, involves growing plants in a closed cycle on stacked shelves. It is ideal for urban areas because it utilizes space more efficiently than traditional methods, even in small areas. Plants do not require high temperatures or sunlight but are grown appropriately with minimal energy and nutrient loss.
