Kingston University London
Kingston University London is a public research university located in Kingston upon Thames, in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, South West London. It first opened in 1899 as the Kingston Technical Institute, offering courses like dressmaking, clay modelling and electric wiring. By 1970 it had become Kingston Polytechnic, and it was granted full university status in 1992. Upgrade.
The university has around 17,000 students and four campuses, organised into four faculties: Kingston School of Art, Faculty of Business and Social Sciences (which includes Kingston Business School and the School of Law, Social and Behavioral Sciences), Faculty of Health, Science, Social Care and Education, and Faculty of Engineering, Computing and the Environment. It's particularly strong in creative and applied subjects — it topped the national tables for interior design, and was ranked second in the country for fashion and textiles and mental health nursing, as well as being London's top-ranked institution for both subject areas.
