bitkom e.V.

As a board member at Bitkom, my role was not ceremonial. It was practical and impact driven. I did not see myself as someone who merely represents interests or approves decisions, but as someone who adds perspective, challenges assumptions, and helps move topics forward.

My focus was on putting technological developments into a realistic context and making their implications for business, organizations, and society tangible. Not from a theoretical or political angle, but from hands on experience. I brought my background as a founder and operator into board discussions to ground debates, sharpen priorities, and shift the focus from abstract digital narratives to real feasibility, impact, and responsibility.

A key part of my contribution was acting as a bridge between technology and decision makers. Moving conversations away from buzzwords toward the real questions: What does this actually mean for companies, for leaders, for employees? Where does real value emerge? Where are we overestimating short term effects, and where are we underestimating risks and long term consequences? In this space, I helped shape discussions and position technology as a strategic leadership topic rather than an IT issue.

In short, my role on the board was that of a translator, challenger, and realist. Always with the conviction that technology should serve people and economic progress, not the other way around.
