The company is seeking a seasoned Fractional CFO/Financial Advisor. This strategic role is designed for a financial leader with deep experience in corporate investor relations, fundraising, and managing a hybrid capital structure.
Understanding the company's unique capital structure is essential for the Fractional CFO/ Financial Advisor role. Current funding is built on 75% corporate investors (strategic partners from the automotive, logistics, and industrial sectors) and 25% research grant funds.
This hybrid funding model demands a CFO who can communicate effectively with corporate investors while also navigating the administrative and compliance requirements of public research funding. The candidate must be adept at crafting a financial narrative that resonates with both audiences, demonstrating both commercial viability and technological innovation.
Key Responsibilities
• Financial Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute a financial strategy aligned with growth objectives.
• Fundraising & Capital Raising: Lead all fundraising activities (Series A/B, strategic investments) to secure growth capital. Prepare investor materials, lead negotiations, and manage the end-to-end process from targeting to closing.
• Corporate Investor Relations & Grant Management: Serve as the primary contact for corporate investors, building trust through a compelling financial narrative.
• Operational Finance & Compliance: Ensure the integrity of financial reporting (IFRS), manage cash flow and treasury, and oversee tax and compliance across multiple jurisdictions (CH, DE, SA, US).
Ideal Candidate Profile
• Executive Experience 15+ years in corporate finance, with significant time in a leadership role (CFO, VP Finance) within a high-tech, high-growth scale-up.
• Proven track record leading successful fundraising rounds (Series A/B, growth equity). Deep experience with corporate strategic investors, venture capital, and sovereign wealth funds.
• Background in automotive, software, mobility, or deep-tech sectors. Essential international experience with a focus on Germany, Switzerland, and Saudi Arabia.
• Extensive experience managing communications and relationships with sophisticated corporate and institutional investors. Grant Management Demonstrated experience managing public research grants (e.g., EU Horizon, national R&D programs), including compliance and reporting.
