Tamara Abu MBA

I am a Committee Chair, Committee Member and an analytical professional with hands-on experience in Operational Risk and Compliance.
At board level I Chaired the Technical Committee, served as a Committee Member on the Customer Due Diligence Risk Management Committee and I am a current member of the First Line Risk Committee at M&G Investment. One of the highlights of my committee work has been at KPMG, where I set up the Issues Management Committee, where we deliberated on issues and risks affecting different parts of the business and set up treatment plans to remediate these issues.
I am currently the 1st Line Risk Governance and Remediation Manager with M&G Investment in London. I previously held the position of Financial Crime Manager with the same company. I have also held senior positions with KPMG, HSBC and others.
I have a proven track record of excellence in building and developing strategic client relationships, assuring the effectiveness of risk and control measures in line with regulations and legislations. I am also adept at arranging practical training sessions for staff and developing and managing teams to achieve shared visions and goals.
An avid learner passionate about delivering fair outcomes for the vulnerable, I envision innovative solutions while delivering exceptional results. As a servant leader, I work to inspire and empower people to be visionary, harnessing their skills and experience, and taking control of their performance and careers. I specifically thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment with a strong focus on quality, integrity, fairness, and equality.
Among my qualifications I count an MBA and a BSc in Finance.
I am an active member in my church, singing in the choir and taking responsibility to organise a team of ladies to clean the church every week.
