Shelly Bryant

My experience combines entrepreneurship, consulting, publishing, and higher education. I have built and managed businesses, worked extensively with publishers and international organizations, and currently teach translation, creative writing, and publishing at Nanyang Technological University. As an author and award-winning translator, I also bring a deep understanding of how language, cultural expectations, and audience interpretation affect whether ideas, products, and content successfully travel between markets.

I am particularly well suited to advising companies that are expanding between China, Southeast Asia, and international markets, especially businesses in publishing, education, language and localization, cultural and creative industries, content and media, and related technology. I can add particular value when a company needs to understand how its positioning, communication, content, or intellectual property will be interpreted in a different cultural environment, and how to adapt without losing what makes the original valuable.
