Rear Admiral Sanjay Roye, AVM, VSM, is a distinguished veteran in India%27s Nuclear submarine domain, with an impressive 37-year career focused on operations and strategic decision-making involving global stakeholders and national government agencies. His expertise encompasses Strategic Planning, Operations Management, general administration, personnel management, policy implementation, global project management, and Risk & Compliance Management at the organizational level. He has led global teams in concluding several deals including the Indo-Russian SSN lease worth USD 1.4 Billion.
He is credited with the creation of India’s youngest naval area, the Gujarat Daman & Diu Naval Area which he set up and commanded from 2017 to 2020. For his distinguished service to the nation and devotion to duty, including in the field of sustainability and %27Green%27 projects, he has been conferred with the nation’s second-highest peacetime military award, the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal by the President of India on Republic Day 2024. An Independent Director (NED) and Board Member, he is a champion of DEI, sustainability and ESG. He is the author of the highly acclaimed book, %27Decoding ESG%27 (2024).
