About

Ryan O’Hara is a multi-discipline expert (Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Finance) at Microsoft, where he has held multiple senior leadership roles reporting to Corporate Vice Presidents (Corey Sanders, Mike Neil, Brad Anderson) and skip-level reporting to Executive Vice Presidents including Judson Althoff, Scott Guthrie and Satya Nadella (pre-CEO position).

Ryan is currently the leader of Worldwide Strategy for Solution Sales at Microsoft. In this role, Ryan drives customer and partner engagement priorities, account segmentation, sales role definitions, coverage, quota and incentives for 6,000 salespeople and $80 billion in revenue. The outcome of Ryan’s work is not only topline revenue growth, but also a shift in customer consumption patterns from on-premises software to cloud services.

Prior to his current role, Ryan spent a decade in Engineering as Head of Product for Microsoft’s management services. Ryan’s experiences traversed the critical technology transformations that are well recognized in any industry. A domain expert in Hybrid Cloud and Systems Management, Ryan’s contributions came in three specific areas: 1) Enterprise Virtualization, 2) Converged Systems (HW+SW) Design & Implementation, 3) Cloud-delivered Management Services. In each of these areas, Ryan led multi-site, global engineering efforts across Redmond, Hyderabad and Shanghai to ship products and services that enable customers to operate their datacenters and navigate cloud transitions. In addition to shipping, Ryan was responsible for revenue attainment, customer acquisition/retention, and gross margin improvements.

Beyond Ryan’s direct responsibilities, he founded and leads a data science consortium within Microsoft, which brings together data engineers from multiple lines of business and functions to establish shared priorities and best practices for building and servicing model-driven insights to support core business
processes. These models inform program investments, forecast business results, predict customer behaviors, and guide sales engagement.

Ryan has contributed 1000s of hours as mentor, coach and advisor inside and outside of Microsoft. Working across a broad network industry leaders and technology experts, he brings a particular focus of recruiting and developing diverse talent at all career stages.

Ryan and his wife, Kristin, reside in Woodinville, Washington with their two children.
