About
Private investor in early-stage climate tech startups, aka business angel. Over the last 5 years, I’ve invested in 27 startups, often university spin-outs with a technical innovation which has the potential to limit global warming, for example with improved batteries, CO2 capture, or renewable energy.
Before investing, I was an entrepreneur for 19 years, starting two companies which are still running successfully. The profits of one of those companies I now use to invest.
What differentiates me from many other investors is that I can step in at a really early stage, much earlier than most VCs. Another differentiator is my technical background: I studied physics, and this helps me to understand the technical innovations of the startups.
Apart from money, I offer my experience to founders of startups, for example reviewing their go-to-market strategy, investor pitch, or team composition. And I can introduce them to VC investors in the next round.
