What distinguishes my contribution at board and advisory level is a perspective that is genuinely difficult to replicate: I have founded businesses, scaled them inside demanding regulatory environments, designed the governance frameworks that protect them, and served as a board director overseeing them. Most board members bring one or two of those lenses. I bring all four, from direct experience rather than observation. Having led organisations as a CEO, I understand what management teams need from a board and where boards most commonly fail them, which makes me a more precise challenge and a more useful ally to executive leadership. My cross-jurisdictional fluency across the UAE, KSA, Egypt, Turkey and the UK means I bring an instinct for how governance principles translate when institutional and regulatory contexts shift . The organisations that benefit most from this combination are international or local enterprises including family corporations navigating professionalisation, regulated businesses requiring a director who has operated inside those frameworks rather than around them, and growth-stage organisations preparing for institutional governance for the first time. In each case, the value I bring is not oversight alone, it is pattern recognition, built across twenty-five years of doing the work.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ Finally, as a 2026 Harvard Advanced Leadership Initiative Fellow, I am actively directing research toward governance transitions and the conditions under which leadership and ownership structures transfer effectively across generations.
