Niels Kokkeel

Hello everyone. Thanks for hearing me. My name is Niels. I am a 36 year old swedish-born dutchman living in Germany. I am here at Boardio to offer my knowledge and skills as a board member.

What do you need to know about me:

I have been very fortunate in being offered many opportunities to choose a different path of life to my generation Y: Living and working in Germany, Holland, France, South Africa, Venezuela and Japan, I have worked for international mega-firms, have founded, almost broken, but finally sold my startup, worked as a freelance consultant and have built a profitably growing family company with a self-funded buy-and-build strategy.

Its fair to say. I have been around.

So what is it that you need in a board member? Obviously you don‘t need somebody to tell you how to run your business. Which - In most cases - I most certainly can’t.

But you will need a second, objective, critical and challenging view on your plan to find your way in the future. Which I most certainly can.

Because that is exactly what my long-term business partner and I have built our family company Mehrwerk for: We challenge consumer strategies of the largest brands in banking, utilities, insurance and change them for good: with an excellent high-performance team as rocket-fuel, we transformed the product suites of brands like Amex, Deutsche Bank, EnBW or Barclays to conquer new business models and create a unique value proposition. In that story I evolved from a sales manager to the CEO of a 700 staff, international organization.
