I am a prospective board member with over 20 years working experience in the Energy and Construction sector.
At governance level I have demonstrated strong leadership qualities in my roles as the Bid Specifications Committee Chairperson, Chairperson of Technical and Project meetings, Member of the Bid Evaluation Committee and Branch Executive member of Nehawu, working as the Deputy Secretary and Shop Steward.
I fulfilled these role objectives by being a good communicator, motivating teams to achieve strategic and operational objectives. All my efforts are underpinned by ethical and effective leadership in order to meet and surpass both strategic and operational objectives.
The highlights of my work on committees included assisting Free State Public Works in achieving its Annual Performance Plan KPI’s through outputs of procurement specifications for goods and services. As the Chairperson of the Project and Technical Meetings we delivered schools to the value of R425 million over four (4) years for the Free State Department of Education.
As member of the Branch Executive of Nehawu, we increased the membership of the branch from around 30% to over 50% and wrestled it from the opposition. I also led the Para Legal sub-committee of Nehawu Central West Region, leading labour relations cases and I developed a case management system for the region.
I am a Certified Director (Institute of Directors Southern Africa-IODSA) and Project Management Professional (Project Management Institute-PMI). I hold further qualifications in the Management Development Programme (MDP), Advanced Project Management (APM), N Dip Electrical Engineering (H/C) and N Dip Safety Management.
