About
Mike is a very experienced CIO and Senior IT Leader, with over 40 years of experience as a technology professional, across an array of industries. He has intimate knowledge of, and experience with identifying, and mitigating risk in such areas as cyber security, program/project delivery, budget management, vendor management, staff and resource optimization, compliance, IT governance, and disaster recovery/business continuity. While Mike has spent his entire career in technology, he has excellent business aptitude and insights, working comfortably and collaboratively across all levels of an organization, building and maintaining relationships. Mike has extensive experience presenting to boards, as well as individual board members.
Mike began his IT journey as a programmer, progressing through a variety of roles (project lead, team lead, IT Director, VP – IT), culminating with the CIO position at Atlas Air. Mike spent the last ten years of his career at Atlas, leading IT teams in support of a number of major business events that transformed the company from an annual revenue of $1.6Bn, to $4.6Bn over that period: the Southern Air acquisition/integration; on-boarding of major customers such as Amazon; the sale of Atlas to a PE consortium; the transformation journey initiated by the new PE owners. Prior to Atlas, his tenure included substantial time at a number of marquee organizations: Smith Barney (3 years), JP Morgan (8 ½ years), Transamerica Leasing (2 years) and GE Capital/GE Asset Management (15 years).
Mike has first-hand experience and expertise in the following industry sectors: Securities Processing, Asset Management, Commercial Lending & Leasing, Commercial Real Estate, Aviation/Airlines/Transportation/Logistics.
Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and mathematics from Queens College, and has attended various executive leadership training courses, most notably at GE’s renowned Crotonville, which included GE Executive training at MIT. Mike currently resides in northern Westchester County, NY, approximately 40 miles north of NYC.
