Michael Bramnick

I started at a large law firm as an environmental, health and safety lawyer. Thereafter, I worked at 4 publicly traded companies and for nearly all of the last 20 years, I was at NRG (www.nrg.com) as it grew from $2B to $30B. I spent the first 8 years in Legal rising to join the Executive Management Team (EMT) as General Counsel. I resigned 4 years later to take an executive leadership role at a management consulting firm focused on ethics and compliance. I returned to NRG 2 years later and, shortly thereafter, I became Chief of Staff rejoined the EMT.

We built an organization of accountability, transparency, and purpose, with a clear mission. Over 10 years, I had accountability for Sustainability, HR, Government Affairs, Philanthropy, Corporate Compliance, Regulatory Compliance, Smart Home Compliance, Safety, Enterprise Security, Business Continuity & Crisis Management, Facilities, Internal Audit, and Internal Controls. In my Chief of Staff role, I was a close advisor to the CEO, and to the EMT, and led company-wide initiatives, including on DEIJ and Covid-19.

I%27ve attended 100+ board meetings and board committee meetings (i.e., Compensation, Audit, Governance & Nominating, Financial & Risk Management, Commercial Operations & Oversight), and presented at scores of them. I recently joined the Advisory Board of a start-up seeking to sit at the intersection of creatives and athletes, AI, and virtual reality.
