About

I help businesses grow and scale when technology matters to their success, especially when the problem doesn%27t fit neatly inside one function.

I have spent almost 30 years in technology, starting as a software engineer and moving through innovation, delivery, P&L ownership, country management and global engineering leadership. That range lets me connect technology decisions with customers, commercial strategy, organisation, culture and the numbers.

Since around 2015, the same pattern has repeated. I take on a business unit, country or hub that needs to grow or change, understand what is getting in the way, and help make the changes work in practice. Figuring out what should change is often easier then getting people involved and making the change stick is where much of the work is. I have done both.

What was required has been different in each place. In Ecuador, repositioning a delivery centre and changing pricing and commercial strategy helped take the business to one of the best financial results in the company. In Spain, I helped rebuild the local business after the pandemic, grew it from 250 to 500 people and grew the P&L to €50M while creating a new commercial function from scratch and launching new service lines. Today I am VP of Engineering and Madrid Site Leader at ESW, where in my first year the business delivered 37% GMV growth, moved EBITDA into positive territory and more than doubled employee engagement.

Most of that growth at Thoughtworks was organic. ESW brought a different situation: the Madrid organisation came through acquisition, so part of my role has been helping it grow while integrating cultures and ways of working. I also had some exposure to M&A due diligence and post-acquisition integration at Thoughtworks.

Those jobs were inside global companies, but much of the work felt closer to building a company inside a company. Resources were finite, support structures were often thin, processes and culture needed to evolve, and there was rarely a ready-made playbook.

My innovation background still shapes how I look at new technology. AI is a current example. During my tenure in Spain we launched an AI & Data service line, and today I am involved in bringing AI into engineering and broader business workflows at ESW. What interests me most is working out which technologies actually fit the problem and how to turn them into practical business use.

I am most useful when growth or change cuts across technology, organisation, leadership and business decisions. I have seen enough versions of those problems to know that copying the answer from the previous company usually doesn%27t work, but learning from the past while adapting does.

I work best with founders and leadership teams that share context, challenge each other openly and give capable people room to act. For me, autonomy and a positive culture are part of business performance, not something separate from it.

I am Brazilian and Spanish and have run businesses in Brazil, Ecuador and Spain, working with clients and teams around the world. That experience is useful when growth crosses countries and cultures, wherever that growth happens.

I am now looking to bring this experience to a small number of startups and scaleups or companies expanding to new territories or markets, as an advisor or board member, alongside my executive role.
