Madeleine Szeluch

I have over 16 years of experience primarily in regulated sectors, across energy, financials and pharmaceuticals. I am an expert on ESG and Sustainability - covering public policy, investor engagement and strategic client advisory.

Currently, I am an ESG Director at Novartis (top 2 pharma), responsible for advising the senior executive team, leaders across the organization and the Board on ESG initiatives. I lead on corporate governance, climate change and diversity & inclusion efforts and develop research for the company. This includes measurement of impact and working with external leaders and academia.

Previously I was Head of Investor Relations and Head of Financial Services for 5.5 years at the UK Government%27s Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy where I developed sustainability policy, advised Ministers and the Prime Minister and delivered briefing documents / presentations. I also led a team of 20+ high performing individuals. Within the Government, I set up a proprietary policy research institute to develop independent thinking for policy makers across ESG & Sustainability themes.

I have an established track record of navigating corporates, institutional investors, governments and delivering strategic advisory to senior leadership and clients, supported by best-practices from multiple sectors. I have a law degree in Commercial Law and closely track regulations and policies globally related to sustainability.
