Louis Durand

I currently work in a group owned by 17 equal shareholders across Europe and Asia. There is no controlling shareholder, so major decisions depend on alignment, judgement and the ability to move people with different interests in the same direction. That environment has shaped the way I operate at board level.

I am a Group CFO operating across eight countries. My experience includes multi-million CHF liquidity and restructuring situations, cross-border shareholder disputes and mediation, international expansion, and difficult portfolio decisions — including recommending the exit or closure of operations when continuing to invest no longer made sense for the wider group or its shareholders.

As a board member, I bring financial discipline and independent judgement without trying to run the business from the boardroom. I challenge cash assumptions, reporting quality, capital allocation and risk, but I am equally comfortable helping shareholders and management reach decisions when governance or politics are getting in the way.

I am particularly relevant to privately held and investor-backed businesses operating across multiple entities or jurisdictions, where growth, shareholder complexity or a major strategic decision has started to outgrow the governance and financial infrastructure around the business.
