Kirsi Korhonen

I am an internationally oriented person with an interest to making Finland (or any place) a truly international society, where everyone can contribute and be a part of a community. I would be happy to share my experience and help anyone with achieving their goals.

I am interested in several areas within international affairs, and currently I work with global mobility issues within higher education. I am a thinker as well as a doer and enjoy planning as much as rolling up my sleeves and getting to work. I enjoy helping clients on a practical and personal level but also envisioning new ways to assist integration, international mobility and internationalisation.

My work experience has specialized me in cultural training and international mobility, most recently academic staff mobility. I am currently working as International HR Specialist at the University of Helsinki, the biggest and oldest university in Finland. My work involves managing the International Staff Services team and assisting in researcher mobility issues and the internationalisation of the university.

I have also worked in consulting, relocation, training and teaching, interpretation and project management, for instance. I have lived abroad on several occasions and hope to so again. I enjoy the NGO scene and have been active in many organisations including the Guides and Scouts of Finland, Erasmus Student Network, the Student Union of the University of Helsinki and Kivinokka ry., to name a few.

I have experience from several fields and though my current focus at work is HR and global staff mobility, I would be happy to offer my support in other areas as well, such as international affairs (mobility, HR, immigration/migration/relocation), integration, training, intercultural communication, project management and event management among others. As a person I am social, open-minded, energetic and always eager to make new acquaintances and experiences. Don%27t hesitate to contact me. :)
