I am currently directing the Innovation department of Sistrade. Created the department, drove it from 0 to its current dimension. Defined the strategy, execution and budgeting. Coordinated engineering teams, people, training, performance and mentoring processes. Led dozens of innovation projects worth several million euros, some of them with multiple external stakeholders. Scaled department revenue, headcount, output and reach. Drove innovation innovation, directing advanced software MVP and prototype development. I have a broad experience in IT, Manufacturing, Management and Innovation, with growing responsibilities.

My areas of knowledge areas are Smart Manufacturing systems (ERP, MES, Cyber-physical, I-IOT), SaaS systems, Process Optimization and Operations Research, Software Engineering, Business Strategy, Research, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Project Management, Industry 4.0/5.0, Intelligent Transport Systems, Defense, Cybersecurity, and UX/HMI.

I have successfully lead several engineering teams in developing knowledge-intensive innovative products, created and expanded open innovation networks and Alliance with partner companies, universities and R&D institutions at international level. I always aim for excellence, efficiency and tangible outcomes, while empowering people.

My background comprises a PhD in Engineering and Industrial Management and an MsC in Computer Engineering. I have also been a Professor and Researcher at the University of Porto, speaker in several international conferences and producer of scientific and industrial research publications.
