Joan Motsinger

Reporting directly to the CEO of a $12B multi-national since 2017, Joan Motsinger is a senior operations and supply chain executive who has led a broad range of governance, transformation, sustainability, and general administrative responsibilities in the highly technical and operationally complex data storage industry at Seagate. Joan was accountable to the Board of Directors, including Audit and Nom/Gov committees, bringing deep corporate governance expertise in enterprise social governance (ESG), enterprise risk management (ERM), cyber security risk management and corporate performance management. With over 30 years of experience spanning technology, operations, P&L, and executive leadership, Joan’s career reflects a demonstrated track record in leading successful large-scale technology and product introductions, optimizing global operations and supply chain footprint, and overseeing global acquisition integrations and business process transformations. Joan has led an annual P&L of $250M and managed $8B annual revenue product lines. She has overseen teams up to 10,000 employees. Her years leading offshore operations in the Singapore and Malaysia extended her strategic and global executive leadership as she successfully navigated positive economics and sustainable impact in partnership with governments, customers, suppliers, and industry partners.

Joan served as Chair of the Board of Directors at Responsible Business Alliance (RBA), the world’s largest industry coalition dedicated to corporate social responsibility in the electronics industry. Bringing additional governance and oversight to the association during unprecedented growth, she was also foundational in championing the expansion of the RBA’s scope beyond human rights to include environmental compliance and emissions reductions in global supply chains. Joan also served on the Circular Drive Initiative (CDI) Board of Directors committed to enabling circularity across the breadth of IT hardware and supply chains.

An executive for mobilizing strategy, technology, and people across enterprises and value chains for the benefit of long-term business sustainability, her leadership has also championed climate change mitigation at the enterprise, industry and world stage challenging industries and governments alike to address climate change and preserve the earth’s critical resources.
