
Having served as the Chair of the Board for multiple companies and a chairperson for various board sub-committees such as Audit, Governance & Risk, Remuneration, and Investment, Jesmane has demonstrated leadership and strategic oversight. She was formerly the Chairperson of ETGIH, a subsidiary of ETG and the largest African fertilizer distributor, based out of Dubai. She was formerly Chairperson of Sybrin, a fintech company servicing blue chip financial services clients across 17 countries. Jesmane was the former interim Board Chair of JSE listed EOH. She also used to serve on the global advisory board for the Young Global Leaders of World Economic Forum. Currently, she serves on the Boards of two JSE-listed firms – Spur and Murray & Roberts. Jesmane is also a board member of the agri and commodities conglomerate ETG, headquartered in Mauritius, with operations spanning 45 countries across several continents.
Jesmane co-founded and serves as a Managing Partner of AIH Capital, a South African generalist, wholly women-owned, and managed private equity fund. Her role encompasses all aspects of the fund, from fundraising to deal origination and execution. Further, she designed and oversees the fund%27s ESG Management Information System, emphasizing her commitment to ESG considerations across the deal life cycle.
Commencing her career at KPMG, Jesmane later joined the Corporate Finance department and subsequently worked for the LSE-listed mining firm Anglo American. Her trajectory continued in the corporate finance domain before joining a prominent local private equity firm as a deal executive. She also served as the Head of Business Engagement Africa at the World Economic Forum based in Switzerland, fostering relationships with prominent companies and growing the membership base significantly.
Jesmane holds both a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Accounting from the University of Witwatersrand. She is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and earned her Masters in Public Administration from Harvard JFK School of Government in 2012. Recognized as a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum in 2013 and selected as a BMW Foundation Responsible Leader in 2022, Jesmane is highly regarded in global leadership circles.
Her extensive public speaking engagements cover investment, leadership, and DEI topics, with presentations at various forums in Europe, US, Asia and Africa. Fluent in English (native) and Afrikaans, Jesmane is also learning German. Having travelled to 74 countries, including 22 in Africa and 25 in Europe, she brings a global perspective to her professional endeavours.
