James Pimentel-Pinto

James%27s achievements span groundbreaking innovation across digital technology, entrepreneurship, and strategic leadership. A digital product visionary with over 30 years of experience, he was Europe%27s first iPhone developer in 2008. His company, agencymobile, secured over 27 App Store number ones, pioneered the hybrid app model, and shaped UX/UI design across mobile platforms, including creating the first mobile banking app and early fintech propositions for RBS. He led digital transformations for global brands including Unilever, Barclays, Sony Ericsson, and Shell, long before digital transformation became mainstream.


An early innovator in online communities and eCommerce, James anticipated digital trends years ahead. He coined the term %22Creative Technology” in 2005 as Dare Digital’s first CTO (BBH) , and advised startups such as Blippar and Testlio from pre-seed. His influential collaborations include PayPal, Radisson, Azure, and Reebok.

Currently, James runs Maverick Disruption, validating market-ready ideas providing investment protection through the multi-phase Maverick Validation Method. He has also started the GenAI Collective in Montreal , Canada and runs the Human-Centred AI thinktank in London, UK.
