Hayley van Loon

I’m a former Australian Government intelligence and counterterrorism officer who now leads a global organization operating across 33 countries as CEO of Crime Stoppers International. My career spans nearly two decades across national security, cyber and insider threat, corporate investigations, and global governance—working with governments, Fortune 500 companies, critical infrastructure, and multilaterals.

What makes me effective as an advisor and board member is my ability to connect risk, strategy, and execution at the enterprise level. I’ve built and led intelligence and security capabilities from the ground up, overseen complex cross-border operations, and advised executive teams and boards on navigating high risk environments whether that’s cyber resilience, data misuse, financial crime, reputational exposure, or regulatory pressure.
I bring a calm, independent voice in moments of uncertainty, and I’m particularly strong at helping leadership teams anticipate second and third order risk, strengthen governance, and make defensible decisions under scrutiny. I understand how organizations fail not just operationally, but culturally and strategically and how to prevent that before it becomes existential.

The organizations that benefit most from my expertise are those where trust is critical and failure is costly: technology and data-driven companies, cyber and AI-enabled platforms, financial services, critical infrastructure, and high-growth firms expanding internationally or operating in regulated or sensitive environments. I add the most value where boards need real-world intelligence insight, ethical judgment, and strategic foresight, not theory.
