Glenn Laba is a seasoned executive and advisor with more than three decades of experience at the intersection of advanced engineering, academic and industry research and development, technology commercialization, venture capital, and sustainability leadership. His career spans federal government, academia, Fortune 500 industry, innovative startups, and venture investment, giving him a unique cross-sector perspective on how organizations can innovate, scale, and govern responsibly.
He began his career in advanced manufacturing and engineering before moving into national leadership roles with the National Research Council of Canada’s IRAP program, where he managed the development of innovative technologies with over 200 companies through funded industrial R&D projects, commercialization, and global market entry. He later served as Vice President with CAE Inc., leading technology and new venture investments, and as an executive with multiple technology startups, medtech, digital, environmental and renewable energy companies, advancing commercialization of sustainable technologies across Canada and Europe.
In academia, Glenn led technology transfer and applied research portfolios at leading Canadian universities and colleges, securing multimillion-dollar research partnerships, advancing intellectual property commercialization, and building collaborations with industry partners, international investors, governments and Indigenous communities. He has worked with two venture capital firms to provide due diligence and growth strategy for early-stage technology companies, with a focus on clean environmental technology, innovative medical technology, renewable energy, and AI that is applied for sustainability, growth, and prosperity for our world.
