I am a highly experienced global CTO/COO looking to work primarily with early stage start ups where innovation and social impact are key drivers. My specialisms are helping to create and execute clear business strategy. I have done this many, many times throughout my career with boards all over the globe.

I am flexible in who I work with, as long as the team are passionate but I would especially encourage enquiries from start ups who are aiming to help to improve the environment by whatever means or to alleviate poverty. Both are a personal interest of mine.

I am a Member of the Board, digital director and COO of Welldoing.org, the UK’s largest mental health therapist matching site and a Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Advisory Board of Upmost, a social media start-up. Previous to this I was the interim CTO and Board Member for 1275, a fine-wine IOT start up and a Board Advisor to Agorai.ai, an AI marketplace start up.

Previous to my career with start ups I spent almost 20 years at the fore-front of fin-tech. I spent 5 years as the Global CTO for the sovereign wealth fund of Abu Dhabi (ADIA), and four years as the International CIO for Standard Bank. In all these roles I spearheaded corporate digital & organizational transformation and had overall responsibility for setting digital and business strategy, staffing and budgets in constant liaison with either the CEO or the Board.

In addition to board roles, I undertook my International Coaching Federation exams in 2018. I now coach several C level executives and also carry out targeted organizational and digital strategy reviews as an independent consultant when time is available from my other commitments.

Previous to my fin-tech career i was awarded a PhD for the innovative use of GPS to measure climate change.
