About
OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE AND EFFICIENCY
Giulio has 15+ years of expertise in Management and IT, acquired while working in five countries in Europe – both for best-in-class global corporates and small niche companies – serving clients worldwide.
He brings international exposure, breadth of competencies, and a youthful approach that enables more diversity in the Board.
His experiences allowed him to develop three unique capabilities to make things happen: notice very rapidly when things are not well-organised and don%27t flow, find strategic solutions and improvements in an unconventional manner, provide an all-round view of all the organisational areas of the business.
Giulio is able to wear different hats – often for the same company – as a Business Advisor, Interim Executive, and Management Consultant. Besides his knack for organising work efficiently, some of his clients contract him to “tell what nobody tells them and accomplish continuous improvements nobody has the time for”.
He has also been a Board Advisor for a spin-off of a software development company in Mexico, providing regular meetings and guidance on strategy, priorities, timelines and ensuring all verticals were moving forward accordingly. Additionally, Giulio supported them during a pivot phase and in testing the market for their first MVP.
His ability to talk and collaborate with any company tier allows him to contribute to the strategy at the Executive and Board level, as well as bring direction and decisions to the operational ground. In all this, valuing the importance of Human Capital Management, he also deals with language barriers and cultural mediation in international projects.
He currently does business in English, French, Italian, and Spanish on a daily basis to enhance workflow, processes, margins, and overall results by leveraging subtle, continuous, incremental tweaks.
Some of the results achieved in different endeavours: increased by 6% the gross margin of a small food Factory in Ecuador; doubled the yearly amount of proposals produced by the sales reps; led the implementation of a new ERP system in a manufacturing production site; co-created and single-handedly coded an algorithm to measure how investable a Startup is.
Thanks to his experience with IT Military standards in projects classified up to Secret, he is able to take into account different levels of risk and foster the continuous improvement of Quality (templates, scripts, etc).
Entrepreneurship is one of his main interests; being active in the Spanish ecosystem of startups and angel investors led him to be hired as a mentor at the IE Business School’s entrepreneurial MBA program and as an advisor in several startup incubators and accelerators.
Previous management experiences include process optimisation, Program Management (led projects up to 750k each), ensuring the successful switch to a new ERP system (rapidly became the reference point who knows all areas), negotiating with the Cybersecurity arm of two Governmental Bodies (UK and NL).
After his Master’s degree “cum laude” (with honours) in Computer Engineering, Giulio proactively kept on embracing various initiatives for professional growth and excellence.
Worth noticing are the Entrepreneurship courses at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, as well as the certificate for the Future of Work provided by The World Bank and the PMP certification obtained from the Project Management Institute.
Outside his professional commitments, Giulio has a real knack for useless and unjustified waste, such as energy, plastic, or any simple daily example. He also has experience supporting a pioneering project in Kenya to provide grants, professional education, socio-economic development, and regional improvements.
His main passion is the Gourmet sector, especially for regional and peculiar products.
