About
If you need an advisor who can problem-solve, navigate, and connect using a rap sheet of cross-sector roles — I%27m your guy. My career has been a series of horizontal and lateral moves, like a game of old-school Donkey Kong through government, nonprofit, and private sector roles, all closing in on the same north star: maximum positive impact. That%27s meant standing up large congregate homeless shelters during COVID-19, actualizing affordable housing developments from dirt to ribbon-cutting, saving hospitals thousands by reducing their waste streams, and earning an MBA in sustainable management so I%27d never stop asking %22how can this be grounded in social and environmental sustainability?%22 I%27m naturally restless and curious — always reading, always listening, always willing to follow an idea into unfamiliar territory.
Some concrete things I%27ve done that might actually be useful to a founder: secured $20M in Affordable Housing Sustainable Communities funding by threading together bike, pedestrian, transit, and anti-displacement goals into a single coherent project; managed millions in federal, state, and local grants across multiple agencies simultaneously; and volunteered time with political campaigns, alternative protein think tanks, and seats on a regional Policy Advisory Council and city Planning Commission. If your company needs to navigate government bodies, understand how regulatory processes actually work, or build genuine trust with communities — I%27ve been inside that machinery, turning the gears.
The companies I%27m most drawn to are ones where the mission isn%27t a slide in the deck — it%27s the whole reason the thing exists. Affordable housing, homelessness response, proptech, alternative proteins, environmental sustainability. Part of what makes me a unique advisor is that my personal world is as cross-sector as my resume — closest relationships spanning generations, backgrounds, belief systems, and zip codes — and I%27m known as someone who wants to understand what makes your world tick before opening my mouth about mine. That perspective, the ability to see the big picture by collecting small ones, is something I bring to every table. The more genuine the team, the harder I%27ll work. I%27m not interested in impact-washing. But if you%27re building something that could genuinely make people%27s lives better and need someone who can help navigate the real world to get there, I%27d love to be in your corner.
