Anni (Anna-Leena) Laihanen

I am a Doctor of Science in Economics and Business Administration (2009), graduated in the School of Business of Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT). My doctoral thesis deals with evaluation/assessment of municipal finances and administration.

I attended the ABM (Approved Board Member) course organized by the South Karelia Chamber of Commerce in April 2015 and passed the ABM exam organized by the Tampere Chamber of Commerce in November 2015.

I have excellent social and communication skills. I am able to make decisions even under pressure and I get along with people very well. I am both capable of trustworthy co-operation and to work independently. My working language has been English for years. I have also studied Swedish, French and Russian.

For 14 years, I was an elected representative in my home municipality and had also other positions of trust. For six years, I was the Chairperson of the Municipal Council and thus, sitting in the table of the Municipal Board. I also was a member of the Executive Board of Saimaan Tukipalvelut Oy, Lappeenranta, for two years (2010 – 2012). This company produces meal, cleanness and cleaning services for the city of Lappeenranta and South Karelia health care and social services joint municipal authority.

At this stage of my life, I have experience of life, tranquility and ability to listen to others, yet combined with a sound perception of the world and ability to well perceive “the big picture”.
