Alan Wilson FIH NED

Alan Wilson is the founder of ACW Consultancy Group Ltd and has been a hospitality consultant, NED & investor since 2009, with over 40 years of experience in hospitality management, business growth, operations and mergers in the domestic & international markets.

Alan achieves growth for his clients by solving the problems that prevent them moving forward, turning the negatives to positives and doubling the value of their business. Clients appreciate his straight talk, often unconventional perspectives, and the depth of his “real world” executive experience. Alan has negotiated 29,200 room night contracts, achieved EBITDA of 33% and generated revenues of $249m for past clients.

Alan is distinguished by his ability to identify the needs of the business and its team and throughout his career, he has helped clients, peers, and subordinates recognise their unique capabilities and position themselves as “A” players in the game.

He has a contagious enthusiasm and passionate belief in people that inspires them to become prouder, stronger, and more valuable contributors to their organisations. He has also led innovative initiatives to build top performing organisations with management staying power.

His background includes managing for the brands Accor, IHG, Hilton, Macdonald Hotels and independent hotels such as the Hotel Bondi & Grosvenor Hotel and acts as Non Executive Director for several hotel companies.

Alan holds a PhD from the LADC in California and is an accredited mediator and an invited Fellow of the renowned Institute of Hospitality.

In his spare time Alan is an independent member of the Standards and Oversight committee for his local council, Chairman of his children’s school PTA and enjoys time with his family, football, golf, and travelling.
