I have been working within multiple business domains digitalizing businesses and/or the underlying processes. My experience comes from major global companies like Nokia, mid-size Nordic organizations and Finnish start-ups.
My experience is that companies underestimate the change needed to digitalize the business. The change is not only technological but you also need to re-engineer all your processes, train you staff, review your sales arguments, train your customers, get your partners committed etc. As a summary you can say the amount of necessary change management can be overwhelming. Managing the technology part is most often the easiest part.
