Marco Donzelli

As the Head of Strategic Network Development at HLB International, I have accumulated 3 years of board-level experience in a global network of accounting and advisory firms with combined turnover of USD $ 2bn, I am in charge of all operations and strategy of the network at a global level, reporting to the CEO, the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors.
In addition to that, I am also an advisor to boards in some of HLB International%27s country structures across the globe. As such, I believe I have gained a specific understanding of cross-cultural board dynamics (and conflicts) and can be of particular help to SMEs, start-ups, charities and membership organisations.

I also was an indepedent advisor of the board and of the CEO at several UK-based SMEs, mostly operating in technology.

Previously, I worked for 7 years with the Consumer Credit department of Deutsche Bank in Italy, building partnerships and devising/implementing a major change strategy for the organisation. During my MBA course at Cambridge University, I co-founded Guestaurant, an innovative start-up in the food-tech arena, and also joined MagicSolver.com, a top UK mobile innovator, where I built from scratch the segment of Venture Capital-backed businesses, increasing the turnover of the company by 30%. Before joining HLB International, I worked as a contractor with several management consulting firms, leading projects for large conglomerates in the areas of operations and strategy. I have a MSc in Business Economics, an MBA from the University of Cambridge and a Non-Executive Director Diploma from the Financial Times. I am also a certified technical analyst of the financial markets (CFT Diploma), a member of the Oxford & Cambridge Club and of the FT Non-Executive Directors%27 Club and, in addition to English, I speak Italian and Spanish fluently.
