
Most recently, I led the overall credit and market risk function for Capital Markets Business Line at VTB Bank Europe SE, working in Frankfurt, Germany for this purpose. This role included acting as a key contact person for Capital Markets business requests, deals` pipeline formation and management, writing policies, preparing credit memos for the Credit Committee, leading projects, representing the risk department on New Product Forum, and approving new products, trades, limits, and documentation as well as training other team members.
I have been responsible for the project of the Brexit contingency plan implementation from the risk department side, reporting directly to CRO. Under the Project, besides else, I built the risk limits framework and risk utilization, being a backbone for Business. Championed implementation of ESG section in Credit Analysis.
My leadership role totals over 10 years combined, during which I have led multicultural cross-border teams at different locations: Kyiv, Moscow, Krakow, Vienna, and later Frankfurt. I helped the team with personal and professional growth, quality assurance, and cross-border communication improvement.
In my credit experience, I would highlight:
- Managing over 70/year (over 1000 names in total) credit names in the portfolio. Credit Analysis, Structuring and Approval of Bond Issuers, Leveraged Finance, Structured Equity, and Margin Loan transactions.
- Championed restructuring of quasi-sovereign Ukrainian corporate debt into sovereign bonds with GDP linked VRI-embedded option
- Managing a sale Sberbank Slovakia subsidiary
- Approval authority holder for up to EUR200mln in PFE risk and EUR400mln of Settlement Risk, approval of New Products, ISDA/CSA and GMRA credit documentation covenants and terms.
In my Business Origination experience, I would highlight:
- Venture Capital fundraising for a Fund and/or a project. In this role, I have managed to reach soft commitments from Sberbank Ventures, Okko TV, Kion TV (MTS Group) for USD10mln. Co-hosted the largest WEB 3.0 conference in Kyiv with over 500 of international investors and start-ups.
- Capital Markets franchise development from a scratch for Marfin Laiki Bank (Bank of Cyprus) in Kyiv. I started with my professional network, added contacts from visiting conferences and, Cbonds and Bloomberg search as well as Forbe`s data, and generated 40 new FI bonds trading counterparties and 8 Corporate companies for Risk Hedging Solutions.
- NBFI Client%27s origination from a scratch for Commerzbank in Kyiv. I started from Forbes%27s top 100 largest NBFI`s in Ukraine, picked up a phone, met with 10 prospects, generated 4 leads, and concluded a deal with the largest insurance company in the country, resulting in 25% funding plan of the team.
